your new favourite place for seriously good ice cream

Our Story
A little piece of Melbourne history, one scoop at a time.
Some places are more than just a shop. They become part of your childhood, your family traditions and your favourite memories - Dairy Bell Bundoora is one of those places.
Dairy Bell began its story in Melbourne in 1970, when founders Andre Razums and John Stanford set out to create ice cream that would take people back to their childhoods. Over the years, Dairy Bell became a much-loved name across Victoria and Australia, with generations growing up enjoying their favourite scoop, sundae or thickshake.
And then there was Bundoora.
Our store has stood proudly at 2 Balaka Place for more than 50 years, becoming a familiar part of the local community. When the original Dairy Bell business closed its doors in 2015, the story could easily have ended there. But we weren't ready to let that happen. Today, Dairy Bell Bundoora is proudly family owned and operated, and we are incredibly proud to carry on the Dairy Bell name and tradition. We are also proud to be the last original Dairy Bell store remaining — a little piece of Melbourne's ice cream history that is still scooping today.
For us, it's about more than ice cream.
It's the grandparents bringing their grandchildren for the first time.
It's the parents who remember coming here when they were kids.
It's the after-school treat, the first date, the family outing and the "let's get ice cream!" moments that somehow become lifelong memories.
We've seen generations grow up through our doors, and there's something pretty special about knowing that a scoop of Dairy Bell can bring back memories from decades ago. While we've given our store a new lease on life, we've never lost sight of what makes Dairy Bell special: great ice cream, Australian quality, friendly service and a place where everyone can feel like a kid again.
So whether you've been visiting us for 50 years, 5 years or you're walking through our doors for the very first time...
Welcome to Dairy Bell Bundoora.
We're proud to be keeping the tradition alive —
one scoop, one smile and one sweet memory at a time.
